Possibility my favourite bridge in the world! This beautiful landmark is a must visit in Porto. The bridge had a upper level, lower level and a tram that crosses it. The best way to experience it is walking across the upper level. It is safe for children. I love that you can see both sides of the Douro river.

I found the Luis I bridge a truly iconic place... a symbol of the city. You can cross it both at the lower level (car street) or at the top one which is mainly pedestrian although shared by trains (and while they go reasonably slow you have to take care of your children if relevant). My advise is to go there at sunset (didn't try the sunrise though ... so who knows) and you might take some lovely photo as well. Regardless of this, a walk is truly recommended

The bridge itself is impressive. The top part is way better for having a nice walk since the bottom one is very crowded and there is barely space for walking. Both parts are actually good for taking pictures!

A bit scary on the high side, but people seam to jump from it so I guess there is no big issue.. beautiful bridge and you vmcan really see that it has the same architect as the Tour Eiffel in Paris. Absolutely with a stroll over to be scared or amazed if you do not have a issue with height as I have. 👍

Breathtaking views both from the base and from the top, a great place to chill and relax. Tours for wine tasting operate from here. There is a cable car too to enjoy the views.
