4000 Porto, Portugal
I'm not much one for churches as I'm not really religious. You can walk around the church and at the time we was there, it wasn't too busy. For anyone religious this part is a must see. What was breath taking was the view from the top. Although the walk up can take a little while due to the narrow stairs, when you are at the top you get a 360 degree view of the city. The top of the tower also gives you a bit of info on other attractions and where they are in relation to where you stand. Overall, very worth while for 5 euros.
Must visit for 360 degree view.Very beautiful to see top view of the whole city.
The main body of the church can be visited for free and is undoubtedly rather impressive. For an extra €5 you can go up the tower and visit the exhibition on the way. The exhibition is only likely to be of serious interest to people who are into religious iconography and obscure figures in the history of the church. That said it was money well spent because of the great views at the top. Fair warning: the steps are quite treacherous and I can imagine that on a busy day dealing with people going up and down at the same time would be difficult, so aim for a quieter time if you can.
The church is nice but the tower is the real jewel of the visit. The top of the tower is the highest point in the historic center of Porto. Great 360 view of the city. Don't miss it! There is also a lookout midway to the top.
Mistic place
