During this weeklong excursion, guests will be treated to views of the Cordillera Blanca range, as well as camping at several different villages during this trek from Santa Cruz.

What to expect?

Day 1: Huaraz- Cashapampa village- Llamacorral Camping

  • We start at 7:30 a.m, drive for 3 hours until Cashapampa, which is the beginning point of the trek, then we walk 9.2km from 2975 m to 3760 m in elevation. This day tends to be pretty hot in temperature while walking to the narrow valley of Santa Cruz, but you will be accompanied by some incredible scenery.

Day 2: Llamacorral- Alpamayo basecamp- Taullipampa Camping

  • After breakfast at 7:00, we start walking at 7:45, covering 14km of distance as we go up to 4250 m in elevation, which is the also where we'll camp for the night. 2km before the campsite, we'll pause to admire the famous Alpamayo base, which grants us views to peaks as high as 6000m.

Day 3: Taullipampa- Punta union pass- Huaripampa Camping

  • At the start of the day, we will walk 4 km up to the Punta Union Pass at 4750m. From the pass, we will have an amazing view of Valley Santa Cruz on one side and Valley Huaripampa on the other, with many mountains surrounding us.

Day 4: Huaripampa- Vaqueria- Yanamachay Camping

  • We will walk down 5km, until we reach the Huaripampa village, then go up to Vaqueria and keep walking until the campsite. It will take 6- 7 h, & just like every day we will see many different mountains around.

Day 5: Yanamachay- Portachuelo Pass- Cebollapampa Camping

  • This day we climb until we reach Portachuelo Pass at 4768m. From the pass, you will have an amazing view of the most snow-covered mountains of the Cordillera Blanca range, while coming 'face-to-face' with Huascaran, the highest mountain of Peru. After this, we will head all the way down until the campsite.

Day 6: Cebollapampa- Pisco Base Camp Camping

  • After breakfast we ascend towards the base camp in a very steep way for about 3- 4 hours.

Day 7: Base Camp- Summit Pisco- Base Camp- Huaraz

  • We will wake-up around 1:00 a.m and after a very light breakfast, we start to walk by the moraine for approx 2 .5 hours until we reach the summit around sunrise. The moraine is a bit rocky but as soon we reach the glacier, the hike turns much lighter. After we return from the trek to Cebollapampa, we will be transferred back to Huaraz in a vehicle.
