We invite you to go kayaking on the Vefsna River, with views of the mountain Øyfjellet towering at 818 meters on one side, and the historic wooden buildings of Sjøgata Street on the other.
Since Vefsna is one of Norway’s most renowned salmon rivers, you may see salmon making their way upstream or jumping out of the water. We go ashore at Marsøra, on the riverbank, to stretch our legs. Here, you'll learn about the extensive timber operations that once took place here, when Englishmen came to harvest the inland forests, and ship the much-needed lumber back home. Today the main industry by the riverbank is aluminum production.
Before the journey starts, our experienced guides will provide all necessary equipment, and give you a good introduction to kayaking techniques and safety.
