Vettakollen, Oslo Municipality, Norway
This place is just amazing. The view is breathtaking, I can't explain how you feel there. It's not that hard to hike over there, even if you are not used to exercise. I really recommend you to go there if your friends, have a lunch or a simple snack while you are there, and don't forget to take a lot of photos.
Easy hiking at the end of metro line. If you have time during your stay in Oslo, definitively do it! We took round 1h30 round trip.
Beautiful piece of wilderness just behind the city limits, perfect route for short after work trail runs and if you don't stop by the view point but continue farther, you will find a place that magically turns Norwegians into smiling and open personalities ;-)
Good point for a short hike. Getting to the observation point is ~20 minutes from the metro station. The elevation is good, walk on the woods is very nice in July. I continued through the route and got to the last metro station. Has seen one more nice view and a deer. Good point for after work small hike. All the way took 1 hour and 30 minutes, 6km.
Really nice hike. It is a little strenuous near the top though. Make sure to take water. Good sunset viewpoint, and a great view of the city and bay.
