KODE 4 is one of the best art galleries I have visited. It contains an assortment of paintings dating from before 1500 all the way to modern art exhibits from current artists. The space is massive and well designed, the curators deserve much praise for creating such well following and stunning collection of amazing art pieces.

Good collection of Norwegian as well as international modern art including a large number of CoBrA works. Interior is spacious and signage is dual language Norwegian / English. Works become more abstract as you get to the higher floors. Tickets are valid for two consecutive days at the 4 KODE locations and the art hall. Good value for money.

Really excellent galleries even though only Mode 3 and 4 were open in April. Many Munch paintings as well as Picasso but the real highlight is the detailed collection of Norwegian painters which was extremely interesting and the sections on Munch and Dahl particularly stand out. Well worth a visit, allow at least 4 hours. Opening times are quite limited in winter spring 11-16. In summer 11-17. Weekends slightly longer.

If you visit Bergen, Norway, and the weather is rainy, which often is, you should at least spend an afternoon visiting the Kode museums. The entrance fee covers entry into all of the facilities. The museums are all located along a street. The first Kode museum is closed due to renovations. But you could visit numbers 2, 3 and four. The fourth museum is focus mostly on paintings and also sculptures. It is more modern Art. Overall I think worth a visit and they have a pretty cool collection. You can easily spend 2 to 3 hours exploring.
