Absolutely beautiful experience. A must visit place in rotorua or you can go for a day drip from Auckland. Experience the serene ambience as you enter this galaxy of tiny living lights. The glowworm is unique to New Zealand, making the Waitomo Glowworm Caves an absolute must-do. Thousands of these tiny creatures as they radiate their unmistakable luminescent light in a subterranean world.

My second time doing this tour and a must if your in the area. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and we all had a fun afternoon learning about glow worms and the history of the Waitomo caves. I highly recommend the black water rafting.

Our tour through the glow worm caves was incredible! I've been through a few before, but this one was the most amazing one I've been to. There were so many glow worms all through the cave it was like being in the stars. Our guide was exceptional. She was friendly, informative and entertaining. She navigated the boat so incredibly well that I thought two people were doing it. I'd highly recommend doing this cave experience and the other two in the area. It was a great day out!

The Waitomo cave was great. The tour starts with a little bit of walking and information, covering what it meant to the indigenous people and how they used the cave, through to the tourist industry and what it means today. As with most cave tours, you get standard, but easy walk. What makes this cave different is the small, quiet boat 'ride' in the glow worm cave, kept dark and quiet. Your guide will take you around the cave for a good five minutes, allowing you two enjoy the cave and the moment. The facilities at the cave are very good and there is a cafe available as well. The main caves entrance and ticketing area is only a short walk from Waitomo itself but there is also ample parking. Recommend staying the evening in the town.

This place is awesome, really good trip, very very busy be prepared to wait, but worth it. very touristy but cool. Don't expect to be able to just drop in as you travel past, you need to expect to be there for a good proportion of your day.
