Schiekade 189, 3013 BR Rotterdam, Netherlands
We went to ‘Op Het Dak’ for breakfast on a Sunday morning. First off, the location is fantastic. Both of us ordered the breakfast deal and it was one of the best breakfast servings I’ve ever had. Highly recommended. One small thing, we also had a boiled egg but it was close to hard boiled, not my favorite.
Finding Op Het Dak is a bit of a challenge, but that only makes going there even more special, as you feel like you're in on a secret. The food is good, although doesn't reach the point of excellence (specifically, nobody in my party was particularly excited about the mushy peas and the egg I got for my breakfast deal was served cold), and the selection could have been a bit better. However(!), any points lost on that front are immediately made up for by the incredible location on a beautiful roof terrace with lavish vegetation (they even have sunflowers!) and the Rotterdam skyline as a backdrop. The architecture is enjoyably fresh and I can't say a bad word about the service either. All in all, I consider Op Het Dak one of the hidden gems of Rotterdam and well worth a visit.
A secret rooftop terrace where they cook with everything up there. The food is fresh, delicious and they always offer a veggie or vegan alternative, even gluten-free if you want to. The staff is nice and welcoming. I ate a salad with a brocoli/nuts mousse underneath all this freshness. Yummy!
Food wow service wow ambience wow vegetable garden wow. Honestly I could not have imagine a better place to have a lunch in Rotterdam. Everything was simply good and we left this place with broad smiles on our faces :)))
Really nice place! I had the all day brekkie, it was quite good! However I expected a pancake and there was something else on the plate instead of that!
