Planning a trip in the Moroccan desert can be quite stressful. Avoid the hassle of planning your trip by joining this private desert tour to Merzouga from Marrakech. Pack in camel rides and a desert campfire with stops in and sightings of places such as Erg Chebbi, Ait Ben Haddou, Ouarzazate, Todra Gorge, and the Draa Valley. Plus, two nights of accommodations and round-trip transport is included.

What to expect?

Itinerary:

Day 1: Marrakech -Telouat - Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou - Ouarzazate - Tinghir:

  • After picking up at your hotel we will go to the starting point located in the center of the city. Later, we'll take the route to Merzouga, leaving Marrakech behind. The landscapes on the way to Merzouga are absolutely phenomenal, and include sightings of the High Atlas Mountains as we travel through the Tizi n'Tichka pass. Our first stop will be in the Kasbah of Ait Ben Hadou, one of the sites recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. This Kasbah was also the place where several famous Hollywood movies were filmed, such as ''Gladiator", ''Lawrence of Arabia", and other films. We will have lunch in the Kasbah before continuing to Ouarzazate, known as the "Door of The Desert." Then, we continue through the valley of Roses to the city of Tinghir, where we will spend the first night in the hotel

Day 2: Tinghir - Todra gorges - Erfoud - Merzouga - Erg Chebbi dunes:

  • After having breakfast at the hotel, we head towards the dunes of Merzouga for an unforgettable walk in the desert. You return aboard your minibus along the famous road from the "1000 Kasbahs" to Tinghir. We'll pass through this famous oasis to the immense canyon of Todra. Then, we go to a local restaurant for lunch. We'll spend the afternoon in Rissani before returning to Merzouga again to enjoy the fascinating dunes of Erg Chebbi, and admire the sunset in the desert.

Day 3: Merzouga - Rissani - Nqob - Tamnougalte - Ouarzazate - Marrakech:

  • The third day we will get up early to enjoy the sunrise in the dunes of Erg Chebbi and then return to breakfast at the bivouac. After breakfast, we will return to the hotel to take a shower and leave for Ouarzazate. After lunch in Ouarzazat, we return to Marrakech through Tazarine and the Tichka pass.
