For that reason, and with increasing enquiries, we decided to suggest a Marrakech to Fes desert trip for you to take advantage of and combine the Sahara desert with the two amazing cities of Marrakech and Fes.

What to expect?


Day 1: Marrakesh - Tizi-n-Tichka - Ait Ben Haddou -Ouarzazate - Skoura - Tinghir

Stop At: Tizi n Tichka, Imlil village, Ouarzazate

  • In the morning depart from your hotel or riad towards Kasbah Ait Ben Hadou through the Tizi Ntichka pass and the High Atlas Mountains.

Stop At: Ksar of Ait-Ben-Haddou, Douar Ait Ben Haddou, Ait Ben Haddou

  • Kasbah Ait Ben Hadou through Tizi Ntichka pass and the high Atlas Mountains. Numerous stops will be made along the way. Visit the UNESCO world heritage site Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, which also served as a set for various Hollywood blockbusters.

Stop At: Taourirt Kasbah, Avenue Mohammed V, Ouarzazate

  • We continue to Ouarzazate and visit Kasbah Taourirte before lunch.

Stop At: Gorges du Dades, R704 Gorges Dades, Boumalne Dades

  • We drive to Boumalne Dades via the Valley of the Roses before before we reach our small hotel located in Dades Valley.

Day 2: Gorges dades - Tinejdad - Erfoud - Merzouga

Stop At: Gargantas del Todra, Tinghir, Tinerhir

  • We'll start today with a drive along the road of Kasbahsto to the oasis of Tighir, where we will deviate to a minor road driving along the river towards the Todgha Canyons. After some time for leisure to enjoy the immensity of the huge cliffs, we'll have lunch at a local café.

Pass By: Rissani Market, Souk Rissani - Merzouga, Rissani

  • We continue early in the afternoon to Rissani, famous for its date market, and being a starting point of the ancient trading caravans crossing the Sahara desert to Tomboctou. After a quick stop, we will continue to Merzouga, driving through some rocky desert landscape.

Stop At: Merzouga Desert, Merzouga Morocco

  • Upon arrival at the edge of Erg Chebbi dunes, we will meet our camel caravan, and ride our camels through the amazing color-changing sand dunes with the sunset in the horizon. We'll reach our Saharan desert camp, nestled in the middle of nowhere, just before darkness. After some time to admire the sand dunes and the surrounding landscapes, get ready for a Moroccan dinner served under the stars next to the camp fire. Late at night, you local nomad hosts will be entertaining you with their drums.

Day 3: Merzouga to Fes

Pass By: La Source Bleu de Meski, Errachidia

  • After an hour sunrise camel trek, enjoy your breakfast at the camp operator’s lodge I’m Merzouga, then you will have some time to freshen .

Stop At: Fes el-Bali, Fes

  • After an early wake up to watch the sunrise, enjoy your breakfast at the camp operator’s lodge in Merzouga, after which you'll have some time to freshen up before you say goodbye to the rest of the group driving back to Marrakech and meet your new driver to Fes.

  • After boarding your new van, depart on a long drive to Fes crossing the Ziz Vlley through Errachidia which is the capital of the Tafilalt region. We'll continue to Midelt where we will have lunch before we keep driving across the Middle Atlas Mountians. We arrive at Fes late in the afternoon. Your shared Marrakech to Fes desert tour will end with a drop off at your Fes riad or hotel of your choice.
