This beach is great! A perfect spot to BBQ and have fun. Ample (paid) parking. The water is perfect for swimming all summer long. The rocky sand can be a little rough on the feet, so bring sandals.

Such an amazing place! My favourite beach ever. There is a lot of shade and during weekdays there is hardly a soul there. The water is beautiful and turquoise I didn't expect that here. It's also sweet water so much safer. A few notes, it's a pebble beach with a little sand so we were very happy we took our sandals/ flip flops. When we were there, on a Thursday in June, there were no stalls for food, no conbini's anywhere, not even at the station. So bring food! Probably in the weekends they're open but I'm still not sure if they'd have regular lunch. There are toilets, but very primitive and there is no toilet paper. Also, there was some glass and other sharp objects on the beach. It's not Japanese clean, but still for the beaches I've seen, this is a pretty nice one! Seems like you can camp nearby too.

Amazing beach on the Biwako! There is a pleasant shade from trees directly on the beach. Very busy in August during the Japanese "bathing season", pretty quiet the rest of the hot months.

A welcome beach escape from the city. It's a pebble beach, so bring sandals if you want to walk around freely, but it's not a deal-breaker if you don't. Only a handful of people were there, though a few guys on jetskis a bit down the beach were obnoxious. Most of the vending stalls were closed when we went on a Monday, so we stocked up on food and drinks at the 7 Eleven (about a 25 minute walk). There's also a strawberry patch nearby where you can pick your own for only 500¥.
