Osugicho, Omihachiman, Shiga 523-0837, Japan
It's a very well preserved castle village that was built in 1585 as a hub for canal transportation, goods delivery and people commuting to nearby Kyoto. We went there chasing for the sakura. Obviously, it was a bit late for the season. However, we were amazed by the charm of canal, the boat, the people and surrounding architecture. It's definitely worth driving down to enjoy the serenity and history.
Very quiet and beautiful street. There are not many shops and stores here but what is here is scenic and lovely
Good water town for mind settling, exceptionally beautiful with cherry blossom in spring
A nice place to visit which is a water village in the area. Boat trip is provided.
One of the very good places to see during Sakura, if you're in Omihachiman.
