Piazza Santo Stefano, 20122 Milano MI, Italy
A special one-off church which is both very pretty and spooky at the same time. The main Chapel area is very pretty and if you turn right from the entrance you will enter the bones part of the church. This is very special, no entry fee but a donation box. Only issue is the area around the church has quite a lot of homeless around it who are quite persistent.
It is a really uncanny expreience to walk amongst bones and skulls.. there is a huge cross made of craniums.. The main altar is wonderful.
This place is one of those hidden gems you can find in Milano if you're one of those explorers. The uniqueness is the decorations of real human bones on the walls, there's an eery feeling to it when you enter. It's also a place that's not difficult to find, next to it there's a beautiful church you can also visit (no bones included)
The ossuary (smaller wing off main church) is a peaceful and eerily beautiful room for reflection in an otherwise chaotic and tourist-filled day. Also a must for any metalheads 😝
The "ossorio" is on the right when you enter the church. Interesting place to visit, certainly not your everyday Chapel.
