Definitely worth seeing. Again you will not regret spending the money to go on a guided tour. Ancient history told with passion. You will learn more and enjoy what you are actually seeing. The ancient ruins are spectacular. Make sure you wear good footwear as the walkways can be uneven. Even though there is so much to see looking up be careful with feet placement due uneven ground. Worth the effort. Just go and do it you will not be disappointed.

The best in Rome for me. A lot of ruins, buildings, gardens, some historical expositions... It takes at least one hour to walk through but you can spend there a half day 😉 Be prepared to wait a long queue. There are security controls at the entrance. The entrance closes one hour before the official closing time! There is only one bathroom in the whole area 😭

This is like a little city inside Rome and you should definitely visit it. There’s a ticket that allows you to enter and also visit the Colosseum, that’s the one I recommend. If you are visiting during summer take a couple of water bottles because you’ll definitely need them and the ones sold there are no cheap at all. Also be sure to take a map with you as you can get lost easily.

It is just about impossible to be a tourist in Rome and not visit the Roman Forum. Expect to find large crowds, few places to get water or shade, and a great sense of confusion if you try to mentally reconstruct the Forum of 2,000 years ago based on the architectural bits and pieces around you. To offset this last issue, consider a trusted guidebook or guide. Otherwise, you can still sort through and get photos of a couple of triumphal arches, the place where Julius Caesar's body was reduced to ash, the reconstructed Senate building, and assorted piles of stonework. To escape the heaviest crowds and get a great overview of the Forum, climb the Palatine Hill where you will also find shade and a hilltop littered with what is left of some of the great palaces (the term coming from the hill, not the other way around) that belonged to those in power during high points of the Roman Empire.

One cannot say much about this in words...it's one of the must visit places in this world. Only advice is to go well rested especially if you've been doing other things that day. A good 2 hours would be great but if already tried it's tough to appreciate it. It's amazing how much history and how many stories each step forward bring. Standing in front of some of these awesome structures is just jaw dropping. The view from the garden above is quite amazing too especially with the Colloseum in the background
