Make sure women are properly dressed. No short shorts and shoulders should be covered. Bring a thin shawl. 3 euros to park. Beautiful church and grounds. Less than one hour to visit. There is a cemetery for fallen soldiers. Decided not to walk around it. Too hot.
The drive up was surreal. The road was so narrow and close to the edge but the view was stunning. The abbey itself was stunning. Inside it was cool despite being 30 degrees outside. From the balcony, you can see a huge cross on the hillside of another mountain (I believe this is a Polish cemetery)
A lovely, secluded place. So beautiful and peaceful. Both, the abbey and the surrounding areas are fantastic.
Great experience, the view from the hillside is amazing! Everything has been rebuilt since the bombing in 1944 so most of the structures look old but are new. Still much was saved and preserved from the original structure. The drive up is long and windy but worth it. If you have time swing by but don't force this into your Italy trip.
Surprised at how beautiful the Abbey was. Great views on the drive up, and the marble stonework inside the church itself was exceptional. Smaller and more personal experience than the grandeur of the Vatican basilica, with peaceful grounds to wander.
