Dame St, Dublin 2, Co. Dublin, Ireland
While the courtyards and the outside of the building look very stern and sad, the self guides tour, €8, is a worth it 30min visit during which you learn about the castle history and its functions. The backside of the castle is painted in bright colors! There is a.nice cafe that overlooks the castle garden and has a ramp leasing down to it. The full guides tour takes a bit longer and brings you to additional places in the castle beyond the royal Chambers.
What a wonderful castle! We have been amazed by the interior and the great portrait that are exhibited here. The Guide was very well written and gave just the right amount of information without getting boring!
Such a beautiful piece of Dublin history! Well worth the visit! We did an unguided your! Only 8 euro entrance fee! Take the time to visit this gorgeous castle when in town!
It’s completely worth the €13 for the guided tour, They take you everywhere and give you a brief but elucidating explanation on everything, and they are quite engaging and enthusiastic. You can easily spend at least 3 hours there if you also visit the external area that includes the garden, there’s a lot to see. Even the toilets look beautiful
Good stop to see, you can do a self guided tour with a very reasonable price. The rooms are full of well done paints and other art pieces. I found it very interesting all the dignitaries that have stayed here.
