Peaceful place to sit and greet god. The historic value is immense, as most of the indian Jewish community have migrated abroad. The few members left look after the building and if your interested will give you historic details. Otherwise there is a small gallery with 10 paintings deprecating the history. Rs5 per person although i think you should give a donation as well.
Such a blessed experience! Met a rabbi there who was kind enough to explain the history and the significance of the artifacts present in that church. He showed us the Hebrew scripture and explained about the scrolls that were used for the service. That visit wouldn’t have been the same if not for him. Must visit if you like a calm place with a century of stories.
The last functioning synagogues of India (or so I've been told). Has a nominal ticket fee of 10 rupees.. and you can finish seeing the whole thing in less than 5 mins. No photography allowed inside. Beautiful place though.
Must visit place for people who enjoy history. It is the oldest synagogue in the old British empire. Ask for a guide for best experience. Highly recommended!!
