The tour starts with a relaxing morning bath at the Secret Lagoon, which is an amazing geothermal pool two hours away from Reykjavik. After that refreshing start of the day, we explore the gorgeous sites of the Golden Circle, including Gullfoss Waterfall, Thingvellir National Park and Geysir.
On our Golden Circle & Secret Lagoon Tour you will enjoy a relaxing bath in the gorgeous Secret Lagoon Geothermal Pool, following an exploration of the most interesting natural sites in the southwest of Iceland. The tour starts early in the morning and the duration is 10 hours.
We'll start the day by picking you up from your accommodation in central Reykjavik (or designated bus stops) and then we head to the Secret Lagoon, one of the oldest natural geothermal pools in Iceland, nestled amongst bubbling hot springs and a small erupting geyser. At the pool, you will have a relaxing bath or a leisurely swim while breathing in the fresh countryside air. The water is warm and nice: around 38–40°C (100–104°F) year-round.
Revitalized from soaking in the Secret Lagoon, we'll head to the Geysir geothermal area in the Haukadalur valley, where the Strokkur fountain geyser spouts water high into the air every few minutes. After we have explored this unique area, we continue our trip and stop at the nearby “Golden Waterfall” of Gullfoss, considered by many to be Iceland’s most beautiful waterfall.
Then we travel onwards to the historic geological wonder Thingvellir National Park, which is not only the founding place of the world’s oldest still-functioning parliament but also the best place on earth to view the juncture of the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates, pulling apart year by year.
During the drive home, you'll be able to gaze at the gorgeous landscapes of southwest Iceland.
