This tour takes you to the major highlights of the Southwest of Iceland, including the Golden Circle, in a single afternoon. Going on this popular tour in the afternoon allows you to sleep in and escape the early morning crowds.
This tour starts at a 10:30, allowing those who prefer sleeping in to do so. You will be picked up from your accommodation or designated pickup locations.
The first stop of the tour is the Gullfoss Waterfall. Gullfoss is without a doubt the most famous waterfall in Iceland. Its name translates literally to "Waterfall of Gold" and this majestic name is indeed very fitting for this magical cascade.
The second stop is by the Geysir Geothermal Area, where you can witness various geysers explode. The biggest one, Strokkur, explodes every ten minutes or so, which means that it's guaranteed that it will put up a show for you. The visitor centre by the Geysir Area is large and cozy and you'll have time to sit down and buy some food or snacks.
The third and last stop is Thingvellir National Park, which is one of the most important sites in Iceland, both in terms of geography and history. Its unique location between the tectonic plates of Eurasia and America results in magnificent landscapes that leave nobody untouched.
After Thingvellir, we'll head back to Reykjavik. The road back is scenic and there's plenty to see from the bus.
Warm, water- and windproof clothing are always useful while traveling in Iceland, whatever the season.
