Travel by foot on one of the most charming and rewarding hikes that the arctic has to offer. Enjoy a relaxed journey through majestic canyons, impressive lava fields, and a birch forest while discovering Glymur Waterfall, the highest waterfall in Iceland.
Your journey starts with a drive in Hvalfjördur (e.Whale Fjord) which is blessed with unforgettable landscapes and unique panoramic views. You'll meet us at Glymur parking lot and then we will head to Botnsdalur, a valley which hides a real gem of nature and the 198 m. (0.12 mi) high Glymur Waterfall. Once we reach the end of the road we put our hiking shoes on, grab a camera and set on 2.3 hour hike through canyons, a birch forest, and lava fields. We will be crossing a small cave where on the other side you will see: a glimpse of paradise, a clear and joyous stream running among moss and tall grass. Enjoy a breath of fresh air as you will be spending your day in the outdoors hiking in beautiful surroundings. We will be back in Reykjavik in the early afternoon.
