Skogar, Vik and Myrdalsjokull, Iceland
Amazing swimming pool right between the grassy hills. Be warned, don’t expect clean changing rooms and facilities. The walk from the parking area is about 20-30 minutes and is mostly flat. Definitely not frequented by all tourists so it’s a bit less crowded which is nice!
A pool with warm water in middle of nowhere? Cmon, you can not give less then 5stars. I would give 10 if I could. This place is magical. OK the dressing room is not the clearest. Wait a minute... there is a DRESSING ROOM!!! And everything free!!! I would visit this place every day if I could. If I visit Iceland again I will definitely swim there again. But tourists, please do not destroy this place... please!!!
Nice for picture, but to swim not sure I would do again. Pool is full of algea like other reviewers wrote, when you get out it is completely stuck to the swim trunks... And the water is lukewarm close to the hot water entering, further away gets cooler. The changing rooms seem they haven't been cleaned since the place was opened in 1920's... I had the place to myself for bit which was nice.
It is a nice hot pool in the summer, its gross looking but nice to swim in! In September it is COLD! I would not visit in the fall/winter for warmth. Pictures are nice though!
oldest natural pool on Iceland. very nice location, but since there is no staff taking care of the place, the changing rooms were very dirty (because people are disgusting and use them as toilets etc) and the pool is filled with algae. could be a worth a visit if you change beforehand, and know what to expect. the views from the pool are stunning
