Látrabjarg, Iceland
Beautiful place to visit especially when the puffins are there! I would also recommend looking at the forecast before going as it tends to be windy. The roads leading to the place are not the best roads in the country, but you don't need a specially equipped vehicle to get there though. Be warned that accessibility is not the best there so be prepared for a bit of a hike to get to the higher locations, but don't be discouraged there are steps leading up and also keep in mind it can get slippery and muddy if it rains!
you might see puffins here. but if not, it is still a great place to feel like you are at the end of the world
The drive there is a long and hard. The road is from gravel and has many turns and hills which can be quite dangerous! The view from Látrabjarg is one of a kind and great to be able to see puffins and other birds this close.
Visited Wednesday August 14. Puffins have all left to sea (so I’ve been told). Maybe ask around before making that long, difficult drive. Nice cliffs, not worth that drive if no puffins, in my opinion.
Great location to see the puffins. Not too many (ca. 5) seen around 5pm (late June) but they are within meters~
