Jökulsárlón, 781 Höfn í Hornafirði, Iceland
Being there is a definitely worthwhile experience in a lifetime, despite the far-out distant location of this magical place. It’s 192 km northeast of Vik, the southernmost village in Iceland around 180 km by road southeast of Reykjavik. This natural wonder one should visit and see its beauty that no words can describe fully! Don’t hesitate, pack and go whenever you can! Better yet, stay for a few more days if you can!
Absolutely gorgeous place and amazing tour. They’re a bit pricey but totally worth it if you’re visiting Iceland. Our tour guide was knowledgeable, friendly and helped everyone getting the best possible pictures. 100% recommended.
It is absolutely breath taking the boat tour between the huge pieces of ice from Vatnajökull glacier. If you decide to go on a ride with this car-boat, I recommend you to dress really good, because it's very cold. Also, after the boat trip, if you get as cold as we did, I recommend you try the Thai lobster soup from the Cafe. It is really tasty and warm 🥶
This is a must do if you are in Iceland. We (me and my wife) took the amphibian boat tour. Amphibian is a boat which is like a truck and when enters water becomes boat and this was used in world war 2. The boat when enters the lagoon and takes you so very close to the icebergs in lagoon. You can also spot seals very easily. Our tour guide was so very good and friendly, along with being informative. This is a lifetime experience and must do. She even carved out a heart from the floating ice of the iceberg and we all clicked the pictures with this heart. From safety perspective I must appreciate this group as they have a crew member following us on another boat which follows us so that in case of any causality the help is right there but this is totally safe. Have fun guys and don’t forget to visit the diamond beach right across the bridge to Spot some diamonds
Truly amazing place, on the south coast, just off the ring road. This is a place you can spend 15 minutes or two hours, relaxing and enjoying the spectacular views of the glacier lagoon. There were hundreds of glaciers in the lagoon, which kept off of the glaciers behind the lagoon. The colors and shapes varied widely. This was truly one of the highlights of our trip and should not be missed. Even if you have a short trip, it is only three hours from Reykjavík. While here, you must go to diamond beach, just on the other side of the road, where glaciers, much larger than you, stand on the beach or in the shallow waters
