Fagurhólsmýri, 785 Öræfi, Iceland
In January, we went to the Anaconda Ice Cave tour with Einar as our guide. The trip was a once in a lifetime experience. He drove us over the glacier in his 4Runner to the cave talking of the glacier and volcanic history of southeast Iceland. Once we got there we walked through the many tunnels and openings to the sky. We arrived right as the sun came up so it made some of the ice turn blue. It was gorgeous and we took loads of amazing pics. Einar was gracious enough to offer his photography expertise and took some pictures of my honey and I. Thank you for the experience! We hope to go back again soon.
Amazing Iceland....everyone must visit atleast once in their lifetime....
Really wonderful experience. I arrived on one of the last days of the season before the cave disappears forever! Next season there will be a new cave to take it's place. The tour was almost cancelled due to water levels but it was still incredible. I generally stay away from guided tours but this is one of the only ways to experience an ice cave, and it's certainly worth it. The ride out there is an experience in and of itself.
The only thing good about this tour, was the tour guide and the drive to the cave. The cave itself wasn’t an actual cave, it was an opening where the glacier drains... very disappointing 😔. Very over crowded as well.
Perfect trip, it's nice to go there
