Selvogsbraut 4, Thorlakshofn, Iceland
A real find in a small village. Everything is made from scratch, including great bread (which is sometimes hard to find in Iceland). The open-faced veggie sandwich is dynamite. The basil mayo was weirdly sweet, but good nonetheless. The roasted potatoes were super crispy and not at all greasy. Even the kids grilled cheese was on point. Juice in a little glass jug with a paper straw was a nice touch. A little on the expensive side for countryside Iceland, but way above par, so worth it. The staff was a little stuffy at first (it’s not the Russian Tea Room—we’re in the middle of nowhere), but they were very chill about the kids playing and running around (there’s a nice kids corner). Overall, excellent food, especially considering how low the bar is for restaurants in rural Iceland.
Delicious burgers and fish dishes! Good service and very relaxed atmosphere. Always a good stop if you pass by the unique town of polackshöfn.
Vegan options and soy, oat and rice milk Delicious, beautiful cakes and lovely interior. Very friendly staff and incredible food and coffee. Beautiful cute coffee shop and restaurant
It was a wonderful cafe with great food We had the carrot soup, nut steak, cod and the veggie open sandwich. The food was absolutely delicious. The place is a bit pricey even for Iceland but delicious
Had the Seafood dish of the day (Wellness from the Sea). Absolutely excellent. Some of the the very best Cod I have ever tasted. My compliments to the Chef. The service was attentive and as a great assistance to me everyone spoke excellent English. Prices (for Iceland) were quite reasonable. Thank you for a very pleasant evening.
