Athens 105 57, Greece
A nice place in the heart of Athens to relax from the city's restfulness. Unfortunately, only few ancient pillars have remained. But when standing in front of these huge pillars, you can get a very good impression of the gigantism in the golden era of the Eastern Roman Empire.
Place of interest was relatively small. Walking up close to it was impressive but they blocked up the easy route to the pillars, so you have to take the long way around to get to the good part and back to exit. If you didn't walk, from the entrance portion where you are further away it felt bland... Like you could just take photos from outside the gate anyway. Recommend it only if you bought the combo ticket, otherwise feels like the six euros was not worth it.
I like it because I enjoyed sitting in front of the temple and walking around imagining the history. But, sadly there is a lot of missing parts that make it seems like a small desert. Still, if you know history you will enjoy it very much.
So I could see this site really well from outside the fence and saved myself a good 24 euros. Absolutely no need to pay to see it. It’s really interesting looking, The site by itself is huge, reflecting how big and important the temple was, but only a few columns are left of it. Not much information provided, you don’t need a lot of time to see this site
Amazing place! One of the must see in Athens. The remained columns of the ruined temple are just spectacular. I recommend to visit that place during the spring. The heat is not that bad and the remains of the temple look fantastic with the green grass.
