Neofitou Douka 4, Athina 106 74, Greece
A good journey through Greek history and a must for pot lovers. The specialist Exhibition was based on Picasso and the inspiration he took from Cycladic art. Excellent, 5 for that and coming from a non art buff. Very interesting and for me shows a new side to his work that had just not occurred to me.
Incredibly informative museum! The layout is fantastic, with a floor dedicated to each period/place while the last floor showcases a day in the life of an Athenian citizen, with clear explanations and illustrations. I would recommend this to anyone looking to learn more on greece's history before the classical era.
Amazing small museum. The extraordinary collection is very well presented. Outstanding multimedia presentation on the customs of Greece. The temporary exhibit was outstanding as well. The gift shop has beautiful handcrafted jewelry.
This museum is excellent. We have been many times or lets say every time we visit Athens we stop by this museum. The Picasso exhibitions was well done, even when a bit small. If you are going on a trip to the Cycladic islands this museum is a must before you visit the islands. Also the coffee shop serves excellent coffee, fantastic cakes and little snacks, such as sandwiches and other bites.
The part on the Cycladic art is magical because of the simplicity of it. The other 3 levels are very interesting too. Great temporary exhibition with a connection with modern art (Picasso).
