The day starts with a comfortable pick up from your hotel. After an hour you will reach Gori, a small town mainly known as the birthplace of Stalin. The house he was born in is still standing there and so does the controversial Soviet-style museum. The impressive palace hosts a typical Soviet propaganda exhibition and is a true macabre experience.
Our next stop is the abandoned rock-hewn town of Uplistsikhe. The first settlement dates 3000 years back and back then Uplistsikhe was an influential and developed Pagan center, which lost its importance after Georgia became Christian. But even today you can see the traces of former greatness - the amphitheater, the temples, the water system, and even a pharmacy. The cave town still holds a mystery in it and it´s no wonder, that its ancient rocks and caves attract photographers and admirers from all over the world.
Then we proceed to the most well-known resort of Georgia - Borjomi, which is located in the heart of the largest Georgian National Park. The pine forests surrounding the cozy town make it a perfect summer vacation destination and the healing effects of its mineral waters have brought it international recognition. You will visit the beautiful city park of Batumi, try the delicious local pine cone jam and if you wish you can take a bath in the open air thermal pools in the forest. The sulfur water of the baths is known for its positive effects on skin and general health. The baths can be reached by a short hike through the woods or taking a car. This is the perfect relaxation at the end of the day.
