8 Boulevard du Palais, 75001 Paris, France
There was quite a line when we came but it moved quickly. The staff keeps reminding the people to be quiet which helps the atmosphere a lot. Overall it was pretty crowded. But when I walked up from the downstairs chapel to the upstairs one it was a stunning experience of overwhelming beauty. The windows are stunning. They also have big cards with explanations in multiple languages by the exit stairs. That was very helpful. It is definitely worth visiting while in Paris.
One of my favorite places places to see. The windows are just absolutely beautiful. You should not miss this. You do have to climb some narrow steps to enjoy the stained glass. Then you do have to descend narrow steps as well.
The chapel is quite spectacular and really very precious. All of the careful detail and ornamentation sits in dramatic contrast to the profound age of the core architecture. It's really amazing to imagine all the people that have prayed and sat in this church over the centuries. I definitely recommend spending time in here. I imagine it would be even better with the audio tour you can get, although we were here with a toddler and couldn't fully take all that in. I don't recommend bringing small children.
Built to house the holy relics, the chapel’s stained glass windows are probably some of the largest and ornate i have ever seen. Simply stunning! The chapel isn’t very big; i’d say you need half an hour to properly go around and take in the amazing architecture.
A jewel and an absolute must. You'll pass at some point when you're in Paris and can spend as much or little time as you like in this absolutely stunning church. Make sure to go up the stairs to the second level.
