Place de l'Hôtel de Ville, 75004 Paris, France
A great place to visit, I love the history of this building and area, especially the major role this place played in the liberation of Paris during WWII. A nice plaza in front of the building provides a wonderful place for people-watching, taking pictures, or a short rest.
Beautiful City Hall with a nice square in front. The actual Hotel de Ville is not open for tourists.
A awesome architectural work. I believe this a city hall (was told when i asked about this to a security person). went there during day time but would be better to visit in night to see the lighting.
Primăria orașului. O clădire superba, la câteva sute de metri de Notre-Dame. The Hôtel de Ville de Paris has been the seat of the Paris City Council since 1357. The current building, with a neo-renaissance style, was built by architects Théodore Ballu and Edouard Deperthes on the site of the former Hôtel de Ville which burnt down during the Paris Commune in 1871. Visits to the town hall, a powerful and prestigious place, are possible. Guided tours are offered by reservation only and are organized by the city’s Protocol Department. Visitors can discover the function room, created as a replica of the Hall of Mirrors at Versailles. Free major exhibitions are also organized here and are a great success.
Lovely place with many locals. I liked to see kids with their parents, playing each other. We walk around the surrounding where I could relax.
