We made reservations weeks in advance. We were greeted and sat promptly - upstairs with a great view. They have English and French menus available, the waiter was very helpful explaining everything and helping us make the right decisions. Otherwise we would have ordered way too much. One of the waiters spoke perfect English and she was always there to help when we needed. The quality of the food was excellent.

The best bouillabaisse to get in Marseille. If you don't want to make a reservation, it's recommended to be there when they open for lunch, as they usually have a few tables available for guess without reservation - but it's a first-come-first-serve policy. Prices are on the higher end, but it's worth the experience.

Delicious food but inadequate service. Also very pricey. Excellent bouillabaisse and oysters. Service is somewhat friendly but at a superficial level. When it came to really honor customer request, the staff were annoyed and did nothing to accommodate our wishes. The upper floor gets quite warm and, even if there are tables downstairs, they were not willing to give us another table. And instead of just acknowledging their problem with insufficient air conditioning , the waitress tried to argue that it’s not that hot and air conditioning at the max. After this argument the waitress did her minimum. She did lots of explanations about bouillabaisse at other tables but did nothing at ours. It also takes long time to wait for the food and then to pay you have to go downstairs. Quite inadequate service for a restaurant that charges 53 Euros for a fish stew.

Delicious, amazing location, great service, and nice ambiance. Our family of four went to Chez Fonfon on a Friday evening and thoroughly enjoyed our meal. We made a reservation on “the fork” a few days before for 7pm, we showed up at 7:05pm and were seated right away at a great upstairs window seat overlooking the small marina. The staff were attentive, friendly, and helpful. The bouillabaisse was an experience and delicious, the scallop carpaccio was delicate and amazing, and the kids meal option was so great for our youngest.

It is a super nice place and the food is nothing less than amazing! Super tasteful! I put 4 stars because the staff doesn’t make us feel really comfortable at the place...
