Lake Inari is one of Europe’s largest untouched wilderness lakes and is a truly alternative destination if you are looking for something special. It is also Northern Scandinavia’s best Aurora hunting area. Along with your local guide Markku, you'll explore the areas around his fishing camp.
You will be picked up from your hotel by minibus early in the morning. You will get thermal clothes and shoes in our office in Ivalo.
We will start our journey from a small village called Koppelo. You will travel in a sleigh pulled by a snowmobile. For an additional fee, it is also possible to drive the snowmobile.
After we have been driving about 25 kilometers, we will arrive at Lenje. There will be warm cottages and a sauna waiting for you, dinner will be served in Kota.
You are in the prime area to see Northern Lights, in the evening you can just relax and enjoy the wilderness.
Breakfast will be served in the cottage or Kota. Markku, your guide has fishing nets under the ice. You will take a trip with him to check how many fish there are in the nets.
It's also a possibility to enjoy ice fishing during the same trip. Lunch will be served in Kota or in your cottage.
Markku will prepare dinner with the fresh fish by an open fire. In the evening the sauna is warm again, and you can enjoy your time in Lenje.
After breakfast, we will start our journey towards Inari Sami-Village. We will visit the famous Ukonkivi Rock on the way to Inari, it is a historical holy site for the Sami people. In Inari, we will visit the famous Sami Museum Siida and enjoy lunch there.
From Inari we will drive by minibus back to our office in Ivalo.
