Take a ride on Icelandic horses through Nordic pine and spruce forests for a chance to spot reindeer and other local animals in their natural habitat, and enjoy some pancakes cooked on an open fire next to a lake in Lapland.
First we will have 2 hours of trail riding with Icelandic horses, and we will experience the famous nature of Kuusamo. During the trip, we will ride small pathways, admire the beauty and silence of nature, and inhale the fresh air. Those who are willing can also try the Icelandic horses' own gate called tölt, and more experienced riders can also gallop.
After trail riding, cozy and traditional Laplandic Lavvu awaits you with an open fire by the lake. We will make coffee and pancakes by the fire and talk about the adventures we just had on the trail ride.
Weight limit is 90 to 100 kg (200 lb to 220 lb) depending on horse and riders' experience. We have couple of bigger geldings, who can carry a rider up to 110 kg (240 lb). If you have bigger or heavier riders in your group, please let us know, so we can arrange horses beforehand.
During winter time, please bring warm clothing, especially for children.
