The perfect shore excursion to see the wonders of Faroe Island. You will get to see the Faroe Island Golden Circle, stopping at Saksun, Tjornuvik and Gjogv being picked up when you cruise ship arrives and being dropped off at your port with plenty of time to make your cruise departure.
The tour begins right at your ship where we will greet you and being your journey heading to the first village, Saksun. Saksun is a cozy, small village famous for its old white church, grass roofed houses, high mountains and a natural lagoon.
From Saksun the journey takes us to the village Tjørnuvík. On the way we
stop for a quick photoshoot by the waterfall, Fossá, which is considered the biggest
waterfall in the Faroe Islands.
Arriving in Tjørnuvik you will enjoy the beautiful view, the tall mountains that stand over the village like a big wall. From here you will see the famous rocks that are called "risin og kellingin" which means the witch and the giant.
From Tjørnuvík to Gjógv, we pass the first "bridge over the north Atlantic ocean" and drive pass Funningur, which is considered the first village the viking settled, and the highest mountain, Slættaratindur.
Arriving in Gjógv, which means Gorge, you can go out the short path to the end of the Gorge, and get the mindblowing view, at the island Kalsoy.
After walking around in the village, we will head back to your ship. On the way the driver will take another route were you will pass Eiðisskarð, were you can see the two rock formations from another angle. If there is time, and if the ship is in Tórshavn, the driver will take the old mountain road back, were you will see the only prison in the Faroe Islands, and Norðradalsskarð were you get the incredible view at the island Koltur.
You will arrive back at your ship in good time before the ship leaves the harbor.
