This tour starts by meeting at the pick-up points in either Split or Trogir, followed by a drive to the Herzegovinian towns of Mostar and Medjugorje. The first town to be explored will be Mostar and the second is Medjugorje, both of which offer unique and fun experiences.
On this day tour to Mostar and Medjugorje from either Split and Trogir, you will get the chance to experience two Herzegovina’s (Bosnia’s ethnically Croatian region), historically important towns, Mostar and Medjugorje.
After departing from either Split or Trogir, you will drive to your first destination; Mostar. Once you're there, your tour guide will explain the historical significance of the town, which has previously been referred to as “a window to the orient”. This will then be followed by a stop at the old bazar, where you will get a chance to take in the picturesque sights of the old-fashioned marketplace.
Following this classic shopping experience you will visit the city's main mosque. Finally, you will walk across Mostar’s most important attraction, the historical bridge for which the city is named after. Once the official tour of Mostar has been completed you will then have some free time for shopping, additional exploring, and trying some proper local delicacies.
Once you have had enough of Mostar, the tour will then continue, heading towards the famous pilgrimage town of Medjugorje, where many Catholics believe that the Virgin Mary made an appearance to six children in 1981. This, and subsequent sightings, have made Medjugorje a very popular location for pilgrims. The tour will begin in Medjugorje with an optional mass, and a visit to Apparition Mountain, where it is believed the Lady was seen. This will be followed by free time which can be used to have lunch and walk up Apparition Mountain.
After this break the tour will then be finished and you will sadly depart back to either Split or Trogir.
