San Cristóbal Hill, Recoleta, Santiago Metropolitan Region, Chile
If you are a hiker, you will love walking the San Cristóbal hill. The hill itself is a challenging, steep walk and at the top, you are not only awarded with a beautiful statue and lovely gardens, but you ill also get amazing views of Santiago and the Andes. I came back twice and will go again the next time I am in Santiago.
This place is beautiful and awesome. I loved going there over the weekends with friends. If you want to have a beautiful view of Santiago city, this is the place to go to. And also if you want to watch the sunset, this is the best place to watch it. This is a place one must go to while in Santiago.
The views are spectacular and this is a must when in Santiago. I came on a Monday afternoon and decided to walk up and back, not a challenging walk but a long one - took about an hour to scale to the top. Entirely free unless you chose the cable car or funicular option.
Beautiful place to hike up and see the city from the top. The pool was closed the day we went but go there if you can. We got the tram back down which was nice to experience and then went into the zoo to finish off our day 😁. Check out @girlonthemove17 for photos and more advice 📷
I was born and raised in Santiago de Chile. Probably I went once when I was very young but I used to think this type of mountain in the middle of the city it was boring. However since I’m not living in Chile. every time when I visit my parents i try as much I can to go to all the most touristic places of Santiago and Cerro san Cristóbal it’s “a must” we like to walk to the top and stop by the “jardín japonés and take the funicular which is very fun and safe.
