Order the one where you get one of everything on the menu. Worth it and actually really good value for what you get. They always switch things up. Service is great and attentive. They gave my group some extra dishes of food which was awesome. We were all stuffed! The area is sketchy so be careful.
It really is as good as the reviews. I'm assuming the $25 reservation charge is so people do actually come in when they get there. Don't let the neighborhood freak you out, you'll definitely regret not eating here. Exceptional. Three of us tried the tasting menu for 3. Nine of the twelve board options. Doesn't really matter what we had because it sounds like the menu is fairly fluid. There will undoubtedly be items you love and some that will challenge you in one way or another. Really awesome experience.
The variety was incredible and the coherency of flavours from one dish to another was an experience I wish everyone to enjoy. From start to finish the kitchen produced works of edible and delicious art. The service was promt, informative and executed with no noticeable errors. Thank you for a great dinner.
We LOVED our first experience at the Mackenzie Room! We had the “just the two of us” 5 course tasting menu which was a great way to sample the menu. The gazpacho and the ice cream/grapefruit dessert were outstanding, with 3 equally delicious and unique courses in between. The flavours in every course really popped and the whole meal was delightful. We will definitely be back and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a top notch food experience. One negative - the room is super loud and we had a hard time holding a normal conversation (to be fair we were seated smack in the middle of the room, but it was loud.)
The food was excellent ! We had the "I want it all" option that included the entire menu. Never have I been in a restaurant that offered that before. Chef's plating was exceptional and made the dining a fun experience. The server was exceptional. The location is in a sketchy area which is not ideal and the restaurant is small with just one room with the tables close together, so it is noisy and hard to converse. However this chef knows his business very well and the meal was one of the best we've ever experienced!
