M4.2, Ostrožac na Uni, Bosnia and Herzegovina
Great place to spend an afternoon. Amazing scenery. Excellent photo opportunities. Entrance is 2KM parking is free.
For sure, one of the most beautiful places in Krajina. The castle is amazing, it reminds on Kaer Morhaen from the Witcher famous books. The castle is from three periods: Kingdom before Ottomans, Ottoman and Austria-Hungarian period. So many nice historical facts, castles and also sculpture park inside of the castle from Bosnian artists. Every sculpture is telling us their definitive and unique story. 5* from me.
Nice castle that has been done in three different time periods.
Amazing place, but I don't like guy who's working on the entrance.
Ostrožac Castle is a castle located in Bosnia and Herzegovina in the Una-Sana Canton just outside the town of Cazin, near the village of Ostrožac. The castle dates back to the 16th century when the Ottoman Turks established the Ottoman province of Bosnia. A second addition was made to the castle between 1900 and 1906 by an unconfirmed member of the Habsburg family. Ownership of the castle is still disputed, but citizens of Cazin and Ostrožac are permitted to use the castle grounds local concerts and entertainment. The castle is slowly being repaired and it is rumored that it has been sold by the government to a private owner.
