There are two good places where you can see Sarajevo from above: the first is the cable car to the top of a mountain, and the other one is the Avaz Twist Tower. The skyscraper is about 170 meters high and not directly in downtown. The Sarajevo main station is next to the tower. The elevator is very very fast and you can look outside while riding it. On the top is a cafeteria which is quite nice. One floor above the cafeteria is the viewpoint platform. It’s outside and the price is 2 KM (about 1€). But you need the right coins because you can’t change money at the cafeteria. The view is great, you can see all sights and the whole city.

If you wish to see all sides of the city. The twist tower is the place to go. For the cheap entry fee of 2km you can see breathtaking views of Sarajevo’s mountaintops and scattered houses in between. It is also a short twenty minute walk away from the city centre. Well worth a visit.

Really good viewpoint in Sarajevo. Best time to came is just before sunset when you can see whole Sarajevo in golden hour and take best panoramas. Its good idea to take a drink in bar below viewpoint. Prices are ok, 4KM for Beer.

The two best views of Sarajevo are from the top of Trebević and the top of the Twist Tower. The benefits to seeing Sarajevo from the tower are that it's cheaper (2KM), quicker (1 minute lift ride), and more immersive (you're surrounded by the city instead of looking at it from a distance). Well worth a trip on a sunny, clear day!

Great place for a view over the area, you can go outside as well. Modestly priced at 2 DM. In the floor below the observation deck is a café, serving drinks and cakes.
