Coconut water

What is it?

-Coconut water is a transparent liquid found inside young coconuts or the fruit of the coconut palm. The World Health Organization (WHO) recognized 100% coconut water as a natural isotonic juice (similar chemical makeup to human blood plasma) and a natural source for essential electrolytes. In simple terms, it is a naturally fat-free juice rich in essential electrolytes your body needs, and has more potassium than a banana. For many years coconut water has been used as a natural source of nutrition, wellness and hydration in Southeast Asia, the Pacific Islands, and Central and South America.

Concord Grape Juice

What is it?

-Concord grape juice is juice obtained from crushing and blending grapes. The most common type of grape used for juice is a Concord grape. They are typically dark blue or purple, have large seeds, are highly aromatic and are loaded with powerful antioxidants that include various kinds of flavonoids. According to a research study published in the Agricultural and Food Chemistry in March 2007, Concord grape juice ranks the highest in antioxidant activity among 13 juices tested.

What are its benefits?

-The flavonoids in Concord grape juice increases the level of important antioxidants, directly effecting essential biological functions, such as blood clotting and the reduction of free radicals.

Ginger

What is it?

-Ginger is the underground stem of an ancient plant called Zingiber Officina. It has an aromatic, pungent, special flavor and zest. China has been using ginger for medical purposes for 2000 years to help digestion and nausea, and for at least 4000 years as a culinary spice.

Cloves

What are they?

-Cloves are the aromatic dried flower buds from an evergreen tree, called Eugenia Arena. Its flowers are red and white but on drying they assume a deep brown color. They are widely used as a culinary spice all over the world.

What are its benefits?

-Cloves have traditionally been used for its antifungal, anesthetic, and antiseptic properties. In addition, cloves have potent antioxidant and blood thinning properties.

Lavender

What is it?

-The lavenders are classified within the 39 species of flowering plants in the mint family. Flowers may be blue, violet, or lilac and are widely use for culinary, medical, and aromatherapy purposes.

What are its benefits?

-Lavender is widely used for its beneficial properties alleviating anxiety, sleep disorders, and for inducing relaxation. In addition, the essential oil of lavender has antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties.
